01 NEW Definition of Alignment
The definition of alignment and how to apply it

Hi ! 👋I'd love to share with you the origin of the entire practice of alignment: the definition we created to help make thriving attainable personally and professionally. Thriving is impossible when there’s misalignment — when actions, priorities, and intentions don’t connect. We know when something is out of alignment yet, until redefined, the word itself hasn't had a proper definition to support the practice of alignment that is universally applicable to us as people, personally & professionally.Curious what the two definitions of alignment on Google are?1) "Arrangement in a straight line, or in correct or appropriate relative positions."2) "A position of agreement or alliance."So that obviously needed a refresh. ⬇️

Measurability enables accountability. We redefined alignment in a universally applicable way that upholds both. This definition of alignment does not talk about the person, instead it talks about the action. Since the focus remains on actions being better, as opposed to people being better, the practice of alignment supports people having their own actions better reflect what they care about (their priorities and intentions). When actions, priorities, and intentions don’t connect, there is misalignment. The practice of alignment creates the needed white space for discovery, connection, & continuous improvement.
Let's breakdown the definition of alignment further: When actions accurately reflect priorities and intentions. Priorities: Things considered to be highly important, having significant impact.Intention: What you want to create, resolve, or be.Alignment gives us space to ask ourselves:"What is driving my actions?""What is my intention?""Is my intention reflected in my priorities and actions?"This can be applied to individuals, families, and households as well as teams, departments, and entire organizations to create greater alignment. This practice of alignment is a catalyst for optimal functionality, maximized performance, better culture & connection, and growth.
