Alignment & celebration, a winning combination

  Rachel Richter

Hi

👋

My teenage self would have bet a million dollars that I would never utter these words, let alone with enthusiasm: "I’ve had the most productive summer."Aaaand this is the difference life experience makes because... I’ve had the most productive summer of my life!

🙌

So what do you do after reaching multiple milestones in one summer? Stop and breathe? Recharge? Celebrate? My intention is to celebrate by traveling to somewhere far far away, relaxing and recharging. Celebrating in a way I haven't before.

🏝

And it got me thinking, with each milestone, personally or professionally, while I have celebrated in different ways, my most memorable celebrations all had one thing in common: It was aligned with me as a ✨whole person✨.

Celebration aligned with our whole selves includes:

Connection with yourself and others magnifies the feeling of the celebration itself, the gratitude, and the joy.

  • Connecting with yourself (really letting yourself revel in your own joy)

  • Connecting with others (sharing your joy with others)

When sharing joy, share it with people who are able to share in it

“I see your intention of helping me go further and I truly appreciate it. I am a "yes" to doing more big things. In this moment, my intention is to share my joy with you, to celebrate what I have accomplished and what I am grateful for. I would love to do that with you. How does that sound?”

And which things are appropriate to celebrate?

Only the biggest wins, obviously.

(just kidding)What if you give yourself permission to celebrate every win? After all, each big win is a compilation of one hundred small wins that got you there. Every one of those is something to be grateful for. You can get excited about each of them and share your joy about it in a way that feels good to you.Celebrating a win (large or small) in a way that's aligned with you energizes you to climb more mountains.

💪

In my case, this celebratory trip is the first time I felt aligned with leaving my business knowing that there are amazing people that will support it, knowing that real meaningful work will happen even though I am not there. In fact, while sharing my thoughts for this issue of the newsletter with my team, this is what they said in real time.

😅

That in itself is a win! And something I am truly grateful for.

🙏

I had such a wonderful conversation with Dean Newlund where we talk about how to create greater alignment with yourself, team, and organization. This was a conversation that touched on many topics. The full episode is available on
