17 TAN UPDATE 11.24.2022 @ Replace Frustration with Gratitude
🌀 Ever wondered what the antidote for frustration is?

— Rachel Richter —
Hi ! 👋Have you ever wondered what the antidote to frustration is?Because it’s not waving a magic wand. It is the next best thing though…🪄 It’s one quick replacement. What if you replace frustration with gratitude?Frustration is a result of something not meeting your expectations: ⛈ rainy weather🚘 heavy traffic🛒 sold out products🛫 travel delays📆 no reservation availability🎭 family drama🍟 burnt foodthe list goes on....🙏 Gratitude involves being thankful, but it is more than that. Gratitude is expressing thankfulness and being appreciative of day to day life — even when nothing ✨"exciting"✨ happens.Living in frustration is aligned with disconnection and living in gratitude is aligned with cultivating greater connection with yourself and others. The more intentional you are with gratitude on a regular basis, the less deep frustration you’ll feel throughout your week.
How to Consistently Cultivate Gratitude
Ask yourself this question each day starting today:What are five things in your life that you'll benefit from today but did not create yourself? All of these are things to be grateful for.
My answers today are:My favorite novel, expanding my mind and imaginationConsistent electricity, enabling most of my life as I know itHot water pressure, making my shower relaxingForests, being there for hiking & white space whenever I choose to goBees, pollinating 24/7 so that I can enjoy my favorite foodsAnd when something is frustrating you, you can choose to flip the script — unless you enjoy being frustrated, then by all means, go for it 👏
Flipping the script on frustration goes something like this:
The frustration:😤 This traffic is absolutely awful and I’m surrounded by the worst drivers. 😱Flipping the script:✨ These trees I’m looking at, this road I’m on, the car I’m sitting in, the music I’m listening to, the air I’m breathing. I did nothing to create them. And I get to benefit from them and enjoy them. 🫶
Dial up your appreciation for the beneficial & beautiful things in your life that you did nothing to create — and let that frustration melt away 🫠
🧐 Found value from reading this? Who in your circle could benefit from having the opportunity to read this too?Be a catalyst for better connection — share this with intention. After all, this is exactly why I am sharing it with you, ! ✨May you have a wonderful weekend,Rachel
