🌀 Alignment for 2023

Because business is personal. This newsletter is dedicated to your own alignment journey.

Hi

👋

Many people make new year’s resolutions that are often sidelined by March. And, for this reason, many others have abandoned this practice altogether.Instead, what if you choose one word to focus on cultivating this year? I chose alignment (if this one speaks to you, feel free to choose it too

🙃

). I chose to focus on alignment this year — to cultivate more of it in my life, my relationships, and my work.I’ve seen quickly that the universe must have a deep sense of humor.I currently cannot speak because of a virus that I picked up over the holidays. A virus so damaging to the throat that every ENT practice in my area is booked solid for weeks.I have never been on a silent retreat where you agree not to speak for two weeks. It sounded like an experience that would be both profound and profoundly frustrating. And, reporting back, it is.

🫠

And I am finding myself focusing on alignment… a lot.

What has alignment taught me about getting through an experience rife with unknowns or rough terrain?

 1)

When something is aligned with your intention, know that it is worth your time and energy.

   2)

Assume the summit itself is something attainable for you.

 3)

Assume you can figure out how to navigate to it.

Because wondering if you’ll reach it, or thinking it might work, isn’t going to help you get there – especially when it isn't just you climbing solo. And the universe’s deep sense of humor runs even deeperI started writing this newsletter before I got sick — someone specifically asked me how to utilize alignment when charting unknown terrain. And after this viral inflammation unexpectedly hurt my throat, I found myself referring back to what I wrote above for advice. 😂So I would also like to add:

   4)

Assume the resources you need will be available to you, maybe even resources you didn’t think you had access to.

     5)

Be open to being humbled by this terrain — that’s part of the point. When you encounter rough terrains that challenge your perspective, this is where growth happens. Afterall, as my teammate Vera says, “you are always one perspective shift from unlocking your next level.”

So with the new year ahead, I offer you this when making your next move: You wouldn’t feel called to it if you weren’t capable of navigating it. 🚀
